Mission: S1E1: Restructuring
Location: Promenade; Roosevelt Station
Timeline: MD01 2100h

After her chat with her husband, she walked out of her room in civilian clothing that of Bajoran civilian clothing. She walked down the corridor and headed for the turbolift and entered. “Promenade,” she responded as the lift began to move towards its destination. Once it came to a stop she walked out and headed for the Skyline Lounge to meet Nerys for dinner. She walked in and seen she was already seated by the window. “Hello Nerys,” Leah said with a smile as she sat down next to her. “I hope you haven’t started before me?” Leah asked then chuckled; Nerys chuckled and shook her head. “So how was your chat with your husband?” Kira asked looking at her.

“It went well, he will arrive in four hours. I guess he was on his way here to surprise me so it’s a good thing I called him or we would have missed each other.” Leah said as she shook her head. “He always had bad timing,” Leah said as the waitress walked over and took their orders. Kira laughed at that, “they usually do.” Kira replied as she sat there and looked out the window for a moment. “To think we both serve on Cardassian Stations.” Kira said, “Well there is never a dull moment on one,” Leah said with a laugh as Kira nodded in agreement. “How are Captain Sisko and the others these days?” Leah asked as they waited for their food.

“They have been good, now that Bajor is a part of the Federation and us protecting the Wormhole things have been busy. But they are all doing good,” Kira said looking at her. Leah nodded, “Well when this is over I should take a side trip to DS9 to pay my respects to Captain Sisko and the others.” Leah said just as their orders arrived, “Oh this looks good.” Leah said, “It was actually made fresh and not replicated, was able to obtain a shipment from Bajor this week.” The waitress and owner said, “Wonderful.” Kira replied with a smile as they started eating their meals.

“Oh Kira, I have a question for you would there be an issue with leaving in the morning? By the time Adam’s ship arrives it will be late, I figured we get an early start on our journey back to Bajor.” Leah asked looking at her. “That’s fine, I checked on the status of your mother before coming here and she’s still hanging in there. The doctors are keeping her comfortable and she’s hanging on until you get there.” Kira said with a soft reassuring smile as Leah nodded. “Mother was always the strong one, and never one to give up without a fight,” Leah said as she sighed.

Her mother went through so much in her life, and so did herself and Kira back in the occupation. “It will be good to see home again,” Leah said as she been so busy she hadn’t had a chance to visit home that much. “I should have visited more, but work has kept me so busy.” Leah sighed as she finished her meal. “I know, we missed seeing you,” Kira replied as she placed a hand on her shoulder. She’s been keeping up with the news about what’s been going on with the First Minister and the issues surrounding that. But, she put that aside as she was more worried about her mother than anything political.

After they finished she looked at the time, “Well I think we can call it a night, you and your crew are welcomed to sleep in our guest quarters for the night. I know how uncomfortable the bunks can be on the Defiant.” Leah said looking at Kira, “Thank you Katana that would be nice.” Nerys said as Leah tapped her commbadge and had her quartermaster assign guest quarters for Nerys and the other crewmembers of the Defiant. Once that was done both Kira and Leah hugged goodnight and went to their quarters. Once Leah arrived she checked on little Adam who was sound asleep, Adam would arrive in a few hours but she was exhausted so she climbed into bed and was soon fast asleep.
